James King, Sr. age 75 of Floydada, passed away May 7, 2016 at the Trust Point Hospital in Lubbock. Funeral services will be held 11:00 a.m., Tuesday, May 10, 2016 at the First United Methodist Church with Tim Askew and Kenneth Jackson. Interment will follow at the Floydada Cemetery. Arrangements are under the care of Moore Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
He was born on October 10, 1940, to Mary King and Rozell Rice in Bryan, Texas. He married Bettye King (Coleman) February 15, 1992 in Floydada. He enjoyed watching football games, he was a Dallas Cowboys fan, he loved watching his grandchildren play sports, loved taking family vacations and traveling in the car.
He was preceded in death by his parents, his first wife; Lee King, a brother; Charles, two sisters; Ann, Joyce, and Alice Faye.
James is survived by his wife of the home Bettye King, his children; Fleata (William Cook) of Belton, Tx, Beverly Collins of Floydada, Tx, Nora (Timothy Collins) of Floydada, James Jr. (Tammy King) of Lubbock, Tx, Terry King of Floydada, Tx, Leonard (Elizabeth King) of Floydada, Tx, O.B. (Tess Smith) of Floydada, Quin Coleman, of Denver, Colorado Sissy Chappell, of Floydada, Tx, Dorcus Baker, of Floydada, Carlos Baker of Floydada, Tx, a brother; Richard Henry, numerous grandkids, great grandkids, cousins, nieces and nephews.
