Margarette Wasson Bond Word, 90, passed away, Saturday, December 24, 2016 at her home, Shepherds meadow, in Floydada.

She was born November 11, 1926, in Amarillo to Melvin Scott and Myrtle Mae Wasson. She graduated from Amarillo High School. Mrs. Word worked as the elementary school secretary at Floydada Independent School District for 30 years until retirement. She was a member of First Baptist Floydada.

She is preceded in death by husbands Wilson Bond and James Word, sisters Lizzie Mae Reyolds and Ella Oglesby, stepdaughters Ann Carr and Elizabeth Atkinson, and step grandson David Carr.

She is survived by sons Greg Bond and wife Mona, Gordon Bond and wife Francine both of Granbury, step daughter Mary Garrett of Floydada, and sister Melva Fowler of Amarillo, along with 9 grandchildren and several great grandchildren.

Graveside services will be held Wednesday, December 28, 2016 at 3:00pm at the Floydada Cemetery under the direction of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.
