Pedro Reyes, age 78, of Floydada, passed away, Monday, December 26, 2016. Funeral Service will 11:00 a.m., Friday, December 30, 2016 at the Primera Iglesia Bautista Church in Floydada with Toby Gonzalez officiating. Interment will follow at the Floydada Cemetery. Visitation will be 9:00 a.m. - 8:00 p.m., Thursday, December 29, 2016 at Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada. Arrangements are under the personal care of Moore-Rose Funeral Home in Floydada.

Pedro Reyes was born May 13, 1938 in Chapman Ranch, Tx to Amado and Adela Reyes. He married Florencia Mendoza on February 15, 1957 in Floydada. They lived in Floydada where Pedro farmed and later became Pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista Salem in Lockney and owner of El Rancho Restaurant in Floydada. Pedro enjoyed growing his own vegetables and cooking, but most importantly he loved spreading the word of the Lord especially to his grandchildren. Pedro was Pastor of Primera Iglesia Bautista for [# Years] where he ministered to youth and adults alike, leading a life worthy of the lord and setting a Christian example for his congregation.

Pedro is preceded in death by his wife, Florencia Reyes, his oldest son, Don Reyes, his parents, one brother; Martin Reyes and one sister, Lydia Reyes.

He is survived by four sons, Moses and wife MaryAnn of Floydada, Barney and Nancy of Plainview, Joe of Floydada, and Ricky and Diane of Lubbock; a daughter, Marta Mercado and husband Hector of Lockney; sisters, Josephine and husband Pete Cabrera of Fort Worth, Dominga and husband Tio Filo Juarez of Floydada, Lupe Reyes of Floydada, Linda Murdock of Defiance, Ohio, Eva Reyes of Fort Worth, Vicki Reyes of Saginaw, Michigan, Adela and husband Julio of Floydada, one brother: Jesse Reyes of Vallejo, California, Santiago Reyes of Oklahoma, 10 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.
